The Karachi Food Scene in 2026 — is it better or worse than before?

This is a genuine question as someone who moved away from Karachi 3 years ago and visited last month. My observations:

What's BETTER:

- New gourmet burger places are amazing (Lord of the Buns is legitimately world-class)

- The coffee and dessert scene has exploded

- More variety — Korean, Japanese, authentic Lebanese now available

- Delivery infrastructure has improved massively

What's WORSE:

- Classic spots are getting expensive (Boat Basin karahi now Rs. 1200+)

- Some legendary places have declined in quality (won't name them)

- Traffic makes getting to food street a 2-hour ordeal

- Student Biryani prices up 30% since 2023

What's the SAME (thankfully):

- Burns Road nihari is still the best in Pakistan

- Karachi street food culture is alive and well

- The hospitality is unmatched

What do you Karachiites think? Am I wrong about anything?

100% agree about Lord of the Buns — it's legitimately one of the best burgers I've had anywhere, including abroad. The smash burger is insane.

Burns Road nihari being consistent is the one thing I take comfort in. Karachi can change, but Uncle's nihari stays the same.
